Chrissy found a shortcut to the ultimate buttery, herby, chicken-and-vegetable dinner—but these blends can be used to spice up any protein, starch and veggie in a pinch.


  • For chicken (or other protein): Garlicky Onion Herb spice blend (just add butter)
  • For root veggies: Honey Lemon Thyme Blend spice blend (just add olive oil)
  • For roasted greens: Balsamic Roasted Onion spice blend (just add olive oil)
  • For salad dressing: Tomato Garlic Basil dressing starter (just add oil & vinegar)
  • Bonus: One bag of Herby Leek Seasoned Rice

Garlicky Onion Herb Compound Butter Roast Chicken


  • 4 Tbsp seasoning
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 4-pound whole chicken


  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Thoroughly combine seasoning and softened butter.
  • Dry chicken well with paper towels.
  • Rub seasoned butter over the entire chicken and under the skin of breasts and thighs.
  • Bake in a roasting pan or large casserole dish for 1 hour, 30 minutes or until internal temperature in the thickest part of thigh reaches 165°F. Skin should be well browned and juices should run clear.

Chrissy Tip: Let chicken rest for 10–15 minutes, tended with foil, before carving to keep it juicy!
