There’s nothing wrong with a plain old chocolate chip cookie—far from it—but IMO adding salt to anything sweet only improves it. So I threw some snack mix into the batter, and the humble choco chip cookie will never be the same. Use any mix you want, or if you’re feeling ambitious make the one from Cravings!
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
1½ sticks (12 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup packed light brown sugar
¾ cup sugar
2 large eggs
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups bittersweet chocolate chips or chunks
1 cup classic Chex Mix, plus more for topping
Always have emergency ice cream on hand.
Like a cozy cup of cocoa in cookie form—marshmallows included!
Corny, in the best possible way.
