We've teamed up with our friends at Chex™ cereal for some unique new twists on holiday sweets and treats. Here's a new cookie recipe with a surprise crunchy element.
With winter finally here, nothing screams cozy and comforting like warm, freshly baked cookies. Or a mug of steaming hot cocoa. But why have one when you can have both?! I transformed one of my favorite drinks into a chocolatey cookie, packed with lots of mini marshmallows and Chocolate Chex™ cereal for a combination of soft, melty, and crunchy. The kids will love helping drizzling and decorating with melted white chocolate, and if you want to add sprinkles or something else to make it festive, go for it. Maybe even dip a hot cocoa cookie… into hot cocoa. Mind blown.
3 cups Chocolate Chex™ cereal
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips (from 12-oz bag)
1 cup mini marshmallows (from 10-oz bag)
+ Flaky salt, for finishing
⅓ cup white chocolate chips (from 12-oz bag)
