    cup light cream, half-and-half, or heavy cream (or a combination)

    cups (3 ounces) freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, plus more for sprinkling

    pound fresh tagliatelle or tagliolini pasta*

    cup frozen peas, defrosted

    ounces very thinly sliced deli ham of your choice

* If you don’t have fresh pasta, use ½ pound dried egg fettuccine and cook according to package directions.
