The perfect appetizer for your next gathering!

This super simple flatbread recipe makes the perfect holiday (or anytime) appetizer. A chewy pizza-esque dough is the base which then gets stuffed with spicy jalapeños, bright cilantro, minced garlic and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and then baked to a golden brown. Serve it alongside warmed marinara, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce and you’ve got the ideal party snack. To maximize the moment, serve them Lowkey Lavender dessert plates!

For the dough:

  • 2/3  cup warm (like lukewarm bath) water, plus more as needed

  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt

  • 1 ¾ cups flour, plus more as needed

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the filling:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 5 tablespoons minced garlic

  • 1 small jalapeño, very thinly sliced (1 tablespoon)

  • ¼  cup chopped cilantro

  • ¼  cup thinly sliced scallion greens

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • ½  teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 cup finely shredded Parmigiano Reggiano cheese

  • 1  cup shredded mozzarella

  • Prepared marinara, warmed, for serving
