Was hoping John would find a pearl in one of these, but… we just ended up eating a lot of oysters. Honestly, this is a really fun trick to pull out of your hat for date night or a small gathering. So if you’ve never tried to shuck an oyster what better time than right before Valentine’s Day??…or Galentine’s Day or whatever day you celebrate! Open, twist, clean, sauce…it’s a lot easier than you think! And to spice things up even more, below are some delicious sauces you can make to go with them. Enjoy!
Japanese Mignonette:
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon finely minced or finely grated ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon soy sauce
- Pinch of salt
Directions:

- 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
- Squirt of lemon juice
