Spiced up with Cracked Black Pepper & Citrus seasoning for super satisfying snacktime.
When that afternoon snack craving hits and you need something fast, whip up a batch of homemade potato chips. All you need to do is peel and slice a potato as thinly as possible, load up with your favorite seasonings (Cracked Black Pepper & Citrus from the Shortcut Spice Sampler is a fan fave), and bake 'em off until they're ultra crispy and crunchy. Since these are hand-sliced, some will come out a little soft and tender with crisp edges while others are verrrry dark brown, but all are delicious.
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more for seasoning
2 teaspoons of Cracked Black Pepper & Citrus seasoning (or try one of our other spices or your favorite blends!)
Arrange the oven racks in the center and lower positions. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Peel and slice the potatoes as thinly as possible, then pat them as dry as possible between layers of paper towels. Transfer them to a bowl and toss with the oil, salt, pepper, and optional 2 teaspoons of Cracked Black Pepper & Citrus seasoning. (Or another Cravings seasoning or spice blend of your choice.)
Arrange the potatoes in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet and bake on the center rack until golden and crisp, 16–18 minutes. Some parts of some potatoes may be a tiny bit soft and some potatoes may turn very dark brown, but all are all delicious!
Remove the potatoes from the oven, cool slightly, then use a spatula to lift the chips off the baking sheet and transfer to a bowl. Season with more salt, pepper, and Cravings’ spices, and then serve immediately.
